Sales Import Field Mappings
Close the Safari excel file before importing. The Safari file has two worksheets. One is hidden. The visible one is Sheet1.
The header row should be row 14 (as of Dec 8, 2016) if importing sales from Sheet1.
The Safari file does not have columns for customer or sale date. Enter values for these fields in the “or use this value” column.
The Safari file has a field for sales channel. If your royalty contract has separate rates for business to consumer (B2C) and business to business (B2B) sales create a translation table to convert the channel codes to the sales type codes used in your royalty rules.
Many publishers pay a royalty rate on streaming sales. To identify Safari Books Online sales as streaming sales, enter “Streaming” in the or use this value column for the Sales Type field.
A translation table converts a value to another value. Example: B2C is changed to Consumer and B2B is changed to Retail. Below is an example of a translation table for the channel field in the Safari import file.
