The Title details > Budget tab is used to record marketing expenditures for a title. This functionality was added to our royalty software because book contracts; with successful or famous authors, may specify a minimum level of marketing expenditures.
Example: The publisher will spend at least $20,000 to promote the title within six months of publication.
The Budget screen fields include:
- Marketing budget for this title
- Total expenditures (=SUM(Expenditures))
- % of budget (=Total expenditures / Marketing budget)
- Budget remaining (=Marketing budget less Total expenditures)
Marketing expenditures can be included in the Performance Summary report. This report is generated from Documents icon; the printer, in the title view toolbar and the title details toolbar.
